My Bookish Corner

Hello! I'm Savannah. I love reading, especially Science-Fiction Dystopian, YA and some General Fiction.

Cramathon Day 5 Update

— feeling sad

I read so much today! I got through 281 pages. I only have about 81 pages left that I could have gotten through yesterday but I fell asleep while reading at about 10:30. So Tomorrow I'm wanting to get all the way through Gone and start/maybe finish Violent Ends and maybe Yellowcake!

See you then,

Happy Reading,

Savannah

Cramathon Day 4 Update

Gosh, I wish I would have read so much more yesterday. I haven't had as much motivation to read the past couple of days. I only read about 35 pages of Gone by Michael Grant.

Tomorrow I'm going to go ahead and try starting Yellowcake or Violent Ends. Also Hoping to get pretty far into Gone. :D

See you then,

Happy Reading

Cramathon Day 3 Update

Today wasn't the best reading day. I've been getting distracted by Netflix again, I'm on season 4 of OITNB and I wanna watch it before July when season 6 comes out.

I read 98 pages of Gone so I'm about 30% done. In order to get back on track with my reading tomorrow I need to finish Gone, 397 pages, then read the whole of Yellowcake by Margo Lanagan, 215 pages, and start reading Hungry by H.A. Swain.

See you Then!

Happy Reading,

Savannah

Cramathon Day 2 Update

— feeling happy

I had a much better reading day today than yesterday!

I finished No Safety in Numbers by Dayna Lorentz and gave it 3.5 stars. I read it for the challenge 'predicted five star read', clearly it wasn't a 5 star read, but I did enjoy it and hope to read the other 2 books!

Then I read 63 pages of Gone by Michael Grant. I have read this before and enjoyed it so I decided I would read it again and maybe read the rest of the series as well. I'm not totally sure why I decided to read this as my second book though, as it is for the challenge 'read 7 books'....hmmm

Hoping tomorrow I can get the majority of Gone read, so I'll be back on track with my reading!

See you then,

Happy Reading,

Savannah

Cramathon Day 1 Update

So, Let me be honest. I got totally distracted yesterday by my niece being here and Netflix. I ended up not reading anything. I did, however plan out my reading and determined how much of each book I will need to read each day. I also had only have 5 books on my TBR now because I can't find my Will Grayson, Will Grayson copy. I may get We are okay by Nina LaCour (from overdrive) for the LGBTQ+ OwnVoices book.

I am planning on starting reading for Cram-a-thon tomorrow! :)

Talk to you then,

Happy Reading,

Savannah

it's been hard to remember to update my books read/reading on here, if you want an accurate list you should check my goodreads page. LINKED HERE

The Forest of Hands and Teeth - Carrie Ryan

I'm honestly not sure how I'm feeling about this book. I would normally put a book down if I felt this way, but I'm curious as to what is going to happen next.

When Scythe Curie gleaned herself though, :'(.
I don’t even have words to explain how I’m feeling right now, the ending killed me inside and I feel for Faraday and Citra when they hear of what happened to Curie...also I can’t wait to see Goddard punished for what he has done

The meaning of the word “aesthetic” is up to you! It can mean a few different things. You can read a book that has your plot aesthetic, like if you really have a thing for magic schools- that can count. Or if you don’t normally pick up thrillers- that could count as the opposite! OR it could have to do with the cover. If you love blue books- that counts. If you a hate books with people on the cover- that counts. Basically how I’m interpreting it is what ever makes me/ doesn’t make me want to pick up a book.

Darn It

— feeling unhappy

I just had a post almost done, and was inserting another picture. It wouldn't work so I clicked the cancel button because I thought it was for the add photo, but it wasn't so it canceled the entire post. It didn't even ask if I wanted to save before closing it, so it's all gone, I'll have to start all over :(

Check Out My Older Posts!

I used to post on Wordpress, So if you want to check those out, I'll link it here

Scythe - Neal Shusterman

Definitely my favorite book I've read in 2017... Can't wait for Thunderhead!!!

UPDATE:

Still my favorite book. I loved this as much as I did reading in the fist time. If you haven't read this yet, read it. It is such an amazing book, with amazing writing! :D

The Last Star (The 5th Wave) - Rick Yancey

I don't even know what to say right now. The ending had me in tears. I loved the characters and am really upset that [ Cassie died (hide spoiler)] But I suppose the fact that [ Evan is alive, and Ringer named her baby Cassie (hide spoiler)] kind of makes up for it. I'm sad that there isn't more in this world but think it was wrapped up nicely.

Plague Land - Alex Scarrow

There were a few things that bothered me a bit, but not enough to drop it to 4 stars. I really enjoyed this book, it got pretty weird at the end though. I'm very excited to read the next book though, and see how these remade people play out. From what I understand this virus or whatever has to be alien, there is no way that it is man-made as some of the characters think. I'm also interested to see how Freya and Leon do together, and if anyone else in the Spa place lived. I would also like to see more of the i think military people that were at the beginning and some other people from other countries.

One thing that bothered me a little was the time jumps, it was present time, then all the sudden it was a couple months later.

And OMG He burned a 12 year old girl alive, like wth.
